After the babysitter arrived late at around 9pm, Brent and Kimberly set off to enjoy their anniversary night together.

From their hotel, Carolina Winds, they headed north to Dick’s Last Resort. The wait time was too long so they decided to go elsewhere. They then went to Fast Eddie’s. There they had ice cream, a few drinks and played a little pool. They left Fast Eddie’s heading south back to their hotel. On the way back to their hotel they stopped at a NationsBank ATM to withdraw $50 to pay the babysitter. After they withdrew the money they stopped at Wings to purchase a beach towel for relations. After Wings they stopped at the Exxon gas station to use their restroom. After the Exxon gas station they went back to the Carolina Winds. Once back at the Carolina Winds they parked their car and then set off with their beach towel on a romantic, leisurely walk, walking north along the beach to a spot past 82nd Ave to have relations. In 1998 after the last beach house on 82nd avenue there was just a stretch of forest (developed in 2001 for a hotel). After they had relations they started walking south along the beach, heading back to their hotel. While walking back to their hotel, between 81st and 82nd Ave, they were robbed and Brent was shot.
